Videogames
have proven to be more than a fad, far beyond simple kids' stuff, and a lot of
fun. For some, gaming is a casual pastime; for others it's an essential part of
life. While you're probably familiar with Halo or Call of Duty, Sonic or Mario,
there's more to the medium beyond these celebrated franchises and characters.
VideoGame Toribia (trivia) serves as a gateway into gaming's rich history. Each
game consists of 20 multiple choice and/or true or false questions. You'll be
graded on accuracy and the speed in which you complete each game. Once your game
is complete, upload your score to the leaderboards and play again with a new set
of questions. Over 1,200 in all!
Many questions were based on the groundbreaking videogame history book Phoenix:
The Fall & Rise of Videogames, by Leonard Herman, who co-produced this
app.
The premise is simple. Answer 20 random questions correctly in the least amount of time.

Remember the first time you played Asteroids and was given the chance to leave your initials because you had a top score? Video Game Toribia also rewards high-scorers by lsiting them on our leaderboards. At the end of a game, simply enter in the "Enter Name" text box the "handle" that you want to appear on the screen, and then press "Share Score". The top ten scores for each day, week, month and year will be updated every night at midnight. Go for the high score! |
